Working hours upon end on VDU’s may cause visual fatigue and stress especially if the appropriate visual correction is not being used when needed. Our corporate eye care service is designed to protect employees who habitually use visual display units (V.D.U’S) as a significant part of their working day.

According to the Minimum Health and Safety Requirements for Work with Display Screen Equipment Regulations (S.L.424.14 Legal Notice 43 of 2002) employees are entitled to have an eye test at their employer’s expense. Employers should also meet the cost of any corrective appliances prescribed to correct vision defects specifically when using a display screen. The employer has a further duty for repeat eye exams periodically as advised by the eye care professional.

OPTION 1: THE IN STORE PACKAGE

A full eye examination carried out by one of our optometrists at any of Optika’s outlets.

The appointments are booked as requested by your employees within a set period agreed upon by Optika and your company.

A report will then be issued indicating whether or not corrective appliances are needed specifically for VDU work.

In addition to this the optometrist will issue a prescription for spectacles if needed by employee

OPTION 2: THE ONSITE PACKAGE

NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO COVID 19 SITUATION

A refractive eye examination carried out by one of our optometrists at your premises on an agreed morning.

There must be a minimum of 15 employees per session organised.

A report will then be issued indicating whether or not corrective appliances are needed specifically for VDU work.

In addition to this the optometrist will issue a prescription for spectacles wherever needed by employee.

PURCHASING OF VOUCHERS

There is an additional option of buying Optika Optician vouchers for the employees requiring corrective appliances specific for VDU use at a 10% discounted rate. Your company is free to decide the value of the vouchers given to the employees.

The employee can then chose spectacles of his liking from any of our 3 stores using these vouchers.  Any difference will then be paid by the employee.
