all day, every day if you want a complete change. They are incredibly easy to wear and look after and so comfortable, that most people forget they’re wearing them after a few seconds.

New to Contact Lenses

Thinking about trying contact lenses for the first time? Even if you love your glasses, there are probably times when you feel they get in the way. Whether you’re playing sport or socialising, or even going outside in the rain, contact lenses can give you real freedom from glasses. Contact lenses are now available to suit most prescriptions. To begin with, many people worry that they will hurt or that they will be difficult to put in or to look after. If you are new to lenses book an eye exam with our resident optometrist who will be able to guide you on which contact lenses suit your particular needs and lifestyle whilst giving you the clearest vision. Our friendly staff would also be able to support and teach you on how to insert and remove contact lenses.

Contact Lens Wear & Care

Choosing the Right Lenses

Choosing the right contact lenses for you is an important decision that depends on your prescription in addition to your needs and lifestyle. Whatever your criteria, choosing the right lenses will give you a comfortable, hassle free alternative to glasses.

Daily Contact Lenses

Designed to be worn once and then thrown away. They are ‘hassle free’, as they do not require disinfecting and cleaning solutions since they are never re-used. As a fresh pair of lenses is worn each time, they ensure clear vision and good comfort. The lenses can be worn every day, but they’re also a great alternative for spectacle wearers who want to wear them occasionally – they’re ideal for sports or special occasions.

Monthly Contact Lenses

Designed to be worn during the day and then removed and disinfected each evening. After one month they are thrown away and replaced with a fresh new pair.

Contact Lenses for Astigmatism

Astigmatism occurs when the eye is shaped more like an oblong rugby ball rather than a spherical baseball, which is the eyes’ normal shape. If your eyeglass or contact lens prescription contains three parts rather than one, your eye care practitioner has found some astigmatism in one or both of your eyes.  Example: A prescription with three parts looks like this: SPH -2.75 CYL -1.25 AX 90. Contact lenses for astigmatism are available as monthly or daily replacement.

Contact Lenses for Near & Far (Multifocals)

Multifocal contact lenses are disposable soft lenses for people with presbyopia. The lenses have an innovative design which allows wearers to focus gradually – just like the eye does, giving clear, accurate vision for both near, and far. Progressive contact lenses are available in daily lenses as well as monthly lenses.

Coloured Contact Lenses

Coloured/Cosmetic contact lenses can add the finishing touches to your look , from simply enhancing your natural eye colour to completely transforming it. They can be worn every day or just occasionally – even by people who have perfect vision. There’s a fantastic range of coloured contact lenses available in both dailies and monthlies. Some of the colours in our range include: blue, sapphire blue, green, violet, hazel, and misty grey.
